The legend of Groundhog's Day says that on February 2nd the groundhog pops out of his hole. If he sees his shadow, he gets scared and runs back into his hole. This means there will be six more weeks of winter or bad weather. If he doesn't see his shadow, then he comes on out. This means that the weather will be nice and Spring is just around the corner.
